Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering

About Course

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year of 2012 with a goal of providing technical education to the students in rural areas. Considering the demand of this century, currently the department offers an undergraduate (B.Tech. in Civil and Environmental Engineering) program with an intake capacity of 30. It is quite difficult to imagine a country without Civil engineers who are rightfully referred to as the mother branch of all branches of engineering. As the institute is affiliated to DBATU, the Department has to take the course curriculum set by the university. Considering the analysis of curriculum, the department has taken initiative to bridge the gap between industry and academia by organizing value-added programs, industrial visits, Co-Curricular and extracurricular activities, etc.

The department has well-experienced and skilled faculty members having average experience of 10 years who are continuously working for the development of innovative projects and approaches along with students. Apart from academics, faculty members also have industry exposure which is beneficial to students for their internship and placement opportunities to work on their mini and mega project work.

The department is equipped with a total 6 laboratories and one additional workshop with huge investment, which are used for various academics and research works.

From HoD Desk

Civil and Environmental Engineering department is always ready to work enthusiastically to support students' holistic development. The department adopted a student centric approach through an outcome based education system and also implemented the choice based credit system along with NEP 2020 guidelines.

The department has an active mentor-mentee scheme which allows respective mentors to communicate students' progress to parents through regular phone calls, letters etc. The department organizes a variety of industrial visits and guest lectures to give practical exposure to students.

Department motivates students for activities such as co-curricular, extracurricular, sports, extension & Outreach activities etc. As a result of this, many of the students have been selected for DBATU inter-zonal sports activities and some students got gold and silver medals for FSKA Karate World Cup 2024.

The department has several functional MOU’s with industries to help students for their professional growth. The department has organized value-added programs to provide hands-on training to students.

Civil and Environmental Engineering students have been placed in infrastructure and real estate industries. Students along with faculty members working on innovative as well as societal projects. Alumni students actively participate in several of the department's activities.

Sincerely and with best wishes
