R & D Policy

Policies for Enhancing Faculty and Student Publications in Journals, Conferences, and Book Chapters

Publication is one of the important criteria of measuring quality of research. Number of publications indicates the productivity of the institution in terms of quantum of research output. The teachers and final year B. Tech students are encouraged to publish research papers and conference papers in peer reviewed National/International referred journals/conferences. Number of journals/conferences published per faculty is a key performance indicator for assessment. The faculty members are advised to concentrate on publication in their own interest for building their credibility. The faculty's credibility adds up to bring a good reputation and credibility to the institution too. When the institute grows, the faculty members to grow. Faculty members are advised to refer to these policies.

Strategies and Support:

  1. Financial Support: Financial support will be provided as per institute's research grant policies.
  2. Make reputable journals available in the central library for reference to enhance learning and support research initiatives.
  3. Mentorship and Training: Respective departments and Research and Development cell will organize workshops, training sessions to create awareness about research publications.
  4. Recognition: Annual awards in the form of memento and certificates for outstanding research publications in high impact journals will be given. Research publications as a key performance indicator in promotions and tenure decisions will be considered.

Ethical Compliances

Ensuring ethical compliance in research within engineering institutes is crucial for maintaining academic integrity, credibility, and the overall quality of research output. To uphold ethical standards, plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, Drillbit, xChecker) will be used for all research submissions to verify similarity and originality before publication.

Review and Monitoring:

The Research and Development cell will establish an ethics committee comprising faculty members, legal experts, and external advisors to review research proposals and ensure adherence to ethical guidelines. This ethics committee will have the authority to approve research projects.

Guidelines for Publications
